About the Principal
Shanelle Dover is the founder of Dover Legal. She is a dedicated advocate with experience in civil litigation, regulatory defence, and administrative law. Her practice is rooted in a commitment to practical, strategic, and client-focused legal service.
Before founding her firm, Shanelle worked at a national Toronto-based law firm where she honed her skills in trial advocacy, legal research, and written submissions. She was a member of litigation teams preparing for judge-alone and jury trials, attended mediations, and supported clients through all stages of the dispute process. She also practised at a leading regulatory law firm, representing professionals in registration, disciplinary, and investigative matters before their governing bodies.
Prior to her call to the Ontario Bar, Shanelle built a nearly decade-long career in banking, with her most recent role in anti-money laundering. She developed strong skills in risk assessment, compliance, and complex financial investigations, which now inform her work on litigation and regulatory matters. This background provides her with a practical understanding of how regulated industries operate and the challenges they face.
Shanelle is also a professionally trained mediator, equipped to help parties navigate conflict with clarity, neutrality, and resolution-focused guidance. She brings empathy and structure to every mediation, creating space for thoughtful dialogue and practical outcomes.
